You are invited to join us at Cork on Saginaw for a special night of wine and food.

Dinner will include 6 wines and 4 courses prepared by Chef Marge Murphy.

Sauvignon Blanc '24  with Truffle Potato Chips

Chardonnay '24  with Scallop with Brown Butter and Toasted Pine Nuts and Fresh  Lemon Risotto

Cabernet Franc '22/Dusty Red '22  with Wild Boar Ragu

3 Clones, Cabernet Sauvignon '22 with Duck Breast with Black Cherry Pie Sauce

The event will start with a 6:00pm reception and dinner at 6:30pm.

The family started in Napa Valley growing walnuts, dates, and a small selection of grapes in the 1950s. That’s when Dr. Lewis Gibbs Carpenter Jr., a lifelong farmer and psychologist with a history rooted in the cattle ranches of Gilroy, moved to Saint Helena and bought land on the valley floor. An agriculturalist at heart, Lewis’ expansive orchards and personal garden were a testament to his hard-working attitude and dedication to Napa Valley’s natural resources. By the 1970s, he had replaced most of the nut and fruit orchards with several Bordeaux varietals of grapes, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot, all of which were beginning to gain international attention following the Judgement of Paris in 1976.

GFAC 1st Friday Music on the Bricks Featuring Jon Hill, Brian DiBlassio, Nick Calandro

John Hill received both a Bachelor of Music Ed. degree and a Master of Music Performance degree from Central Michigan University and is a proud former student of late percussionist, Mr. Robert Hohner.  In Michigan public schools for over twenty-nine years, he is currently on staff at Oxford High School where he teaches Guitar, Jazz Band, and Marching Band.  He is also adjunct faculty for both Mott Community College.  Mr. Hill is a respected jazz/classical percussionist and a highly sought clinician in schools throughout the state.  He performs regularly with the Flint Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Bay Symphony, and the Lansing Symphony Orchestra.
